3 star prospect. Is he really a big get?

Guys develop, but I think it gets Willard on the board and hopefully Batchelor's signing is just the first domino.

Sounds like he’ll either be playing at Maryland or heading to the NBA, and staying in college seems to be the likely outcome. Barring a major shift, he should be a Terp next season.

Three different 247Sports analysts (including Jeff Ermann) are now projecting that Young will transfer to Maryland. With the transfer deadline less than two weeks away, it should become official sooner rather than later. He’d come to College Park as the top option to start at PG next season.

Pitt transfer G Femi Odukale has named Maryland as a finalist for his commitment, along with Oregon, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, and UConn. He averaged 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds last season as a sophomore.

Thanks for all this info Zack - it's nice not having to go to other sources to try and track this information down. Especially since I'm not on Twitter or any social media anymore for that matter. Keep 'em coming.

Willard has been active.

But I'm more excited about his ability to develop players throughout a season.

Thanks Zack!  You are making keeping up with Willard and company very easy.

Jay Wright’s retirement has the potential to be a major boon for Willard and his staff. Very few coaches have stolen more players away from the DMV than he did.

I'd imagine Villanova has established itself as a big enough brand at this point where I'd be curious how much of a dent it'll make, two national titles and another Final Four in the past ten years is a pretty strong pitch

Wow, that's huge.  Wright is at the very top of the current coaching pantheon.

I think Jay wright has been the best coach in CBB for years now.  Big loss to the game and to Villanova.   Your right, maybe it keeps a few kids home.

Interesting to see how his game translates to a power conference school. Obviously a great player at a mid major.

LSU transfer G Brandon Murray has entered the transfer portal. He’s a former Top-100 recruit from Baltimore and Maryland state high school player of the year who Turgeon never pursued.

He started 32 games for the Tigers this year, and has three years of eligibility remaining.

Murray is headed to Georgetown.

Arizona State G Jay Heath has entered the transfer portal. He’s a NoVA native, and played at Woodrow Wilson High School in DC. He was a 3-star recruit, and was Boston College’s leading scorer as a sophomore before transferring to Arizona State, where he averaged 11 points per game last season.

Young "committed" to MD, but he's remaining in the NBA draft process.

As long as he doesn’t enter the NBA Draft, Young will become the first DeMatha product to play for Maryland since Travis Garrison nearly two decades ago.

Good news, but it is kind of like getting a present and then being told not to use it yet.

I don't dig into NBA mock drafts a lot, but what little I have I've yet to see his name anywhere. I think he'll need to kill it at the combine to get the advice he likely wants to hear. He's a shooter, and there's always a place in today's NBA for shooters on rookie deals. But at just 6'-1" he may be a liability on the defensive end, which can push you off a draft board and into UDFA territory.
